Students will use the internet to research this question. Answers will be posted on Today's Meet.
Use magazines to contrast ads over time. Use the current magazines and library resources of Life and Vermont Life from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Choose two magazines--One current and one from at least 20 years ago. Find one ad for the same type of product in each magazine. Compare and contrast the advertising for audience, technique, and purpose. Use the deconstructing the ad worksheet. Create columns for each question.

search the web to find other products that claim to be eco friendly and/or green.
Choose one product.
Create a webpage for your Greenwashing Product.
Upload a picture of the item.
Explain what the product is.
Explain how it claims to be green.
Tell and how it is not living up to its claim.
Offer an alternative product or service that can be a substitute that really is green.
Final Product is for students to choose something to advertise or make up a product to advertise. Small groups of three will create a commercial. Individuals will create a magazine ad.
